1. 本 Section 聚焦 EKS Networking,默认已掌握 Container/Microservice/Kubernetes 基础

EKS networking section prerequisite requiring container microservice and Kubernetes knowledge

Summary

English

This section prepares Amazon EKS networking topics that may appear in the Advanced Networking exam. It is not a Kubernetes-from-scratch course; containers, microservices, and Kubernetes fundamentals are prerequisites. Some core components are still reviewed because relationships among pods, services, the control plane, and the data plane determine network paths, addressing, and security. The learning focus should remain on AWS and VPC integration rather than the full breadth of Kubernetes administration.

Transcript

00:00 Hello and welcome to this section that is Amazon EKS networking.

00:05 Now, in this section,

00:06 we are going to talk everything about the Elastic Kubernetes Service Networking.

00:11 And in your exam, you can expect couple of questions related to EKS networking.

00:17 Now, before we dive deep into this topic,

00:19 I just wanted to set the right expectations.

00:22 Now, our focus is mainly on the networking. But when it comes to the Kubernetes,

00:26 it is also difficult to just talk about the networking

00:30 because without understanding the

00:33 Kubernetes core components,

00:34 it's difficult to relate how networking works in Kubernetes.

00:38 So for me personally, it's been a challenge to draw that line.

00:42 So with respect to the understanding of

00:45 Kubernetes I will try to keep some balance and I hope that is OK with you.

00:50 Okay. So as I said in this section, we are going to talk about the

00:54 Kubernetes and EKS networking.

00:56 And at this point, you are expected to know what are containers,

01:00 what are microservices and what is Kubernetes.

01:03 This is a prerequisite

01:04 and this is not

01:06 a

01:06 Kubernetes course. So I expect that you already know these things.

01:10 But if not, I have provided a separate video which you can go and check

01:14 and then you can start with this section.

Custom Networking

EKS networking section roadmap listing architecture pod networking security groups load balancers and custom networking

Summary

English

The roadmap begins with open-source Kubernetes architecture, maps it to the EKS managed control plane and customer-managed data plane, then covers cluster networking, pod-to-pod communication, security groups for pods, exposing EKS services through CLB, ALB, or NLB, custom networking, and a final summary. The essential exam skill is mapping Kubernetes objects to AWS resources: how pod IPs enter the VPC, how services invoke load balancers, where security groups attach, and how the control and data planes communicate.

Transcript

01:17 So

01:18 we will cover

01:19 Kubernetes open source architecture. So here we'll talk about the

01:23 Kubernetes in general

01:24 without

01:25 AWS context.

01:26 And then we will see how things work in EKS that is Amazon's Elastic Kubernetes

01:32 service.

01:33 And within the EKS, we will see EKS architecture

01:36 that is control plane and data plane.

01:39 Then we will see EKS cluster networking

01:41 as in how

01:43 AWS manages the control plane and you manage the data plane.

01:46 Then we will see the pod networking within the EKS,

01:49 which means how pods communicate with each other

01:52 and how can you secure that communication..

01:55 Then we will see use of security groups with EKS ports

02:00 and this is relatively a new feature that

02:02 AWS released.

02:03 And then one of the most important topic

02:06 is exposing EKS services using Amazon Load-Balancer.

02:11 So please make sure that you understand this topic well,

02:15 and then we will see some advanced features of

02:17 EKS networking which comes under EKS custom networking.

02:21 And then we will wrap up this section with EKS networking summary.

02:26 Okay. So I hope you are good with that.

02:29 And as I said, if you don't know about what are containers, microservices,

02:33 then you can check this video out there.

02:35 And I have also provided the link to that in the description.

02:39 But if you already know about the containers and microservices and in general,

02:43 what is

02:44 Kubernetes, then you can just start with this section.

02:47 OK. So with that, let's get started with

02:50 Kubernetes Architecture.

02:51 Thank you.

Overall Summary

English

Section 21 assumes Kubernetes fundamentals and focuses on EKS control and data planes, cluster and pod networking, security groups for pods, load-balancer services, and custom networking. Its core method is mapping Kubernetes abstractions to VPC IPs, ENIs, routes, security groups, and AWS load balancers.
